Protect our wetlands and environmentally sensitive lands.

One third of the proposed development land is Grand River Conservation Area (GRCA) protected wetland or is regulated by the GRCA.

These wetlands serve multiple functions, including the protection of water supply, and the many species that inhabit them including a few endangered species of birds.

This proposed development land is designated as an intake protection zone for protecting rivers and streams as per Wellington Source Water Protection and in a wellhead protection area, which may be impacted with 75,000 L of wastewater per day entering a septic system.

Once it’s gone it’s gone. We need to protect the land and the wildlife.
